of Liril and Lifebuoy and Hindus and Muslims

Tell me, do you ever fight over the fact that you use Liril OR Lifebuoy for washing your body?
(do keep in mind that the soaps in context are the largest selling soaps in India)

Likewise why do we fight over the fact who do we pray to?

I mean it's as personal a fact about life as the brand of soap you rub on your butt.
Have you heard anyone going into the details of something as intimate as personal hygiene?

Should I ask you what do you clean first?
Legs?
Arms?
Chest?
Tummy?
or perhaps something lower?

How are your strokes, are they manly and robust, or are they gentle and caressing?

Do you like the lemony lime smell emanating from your body? or is the bland carbolic smell that effuses from your nether regions?

How thoroughly do you clean your hair? Do you use shampoo (:D) ?

Don't you find these questions tasteless and full of unearthly humor?

Why can't we treat religion as something as intimate as that and be reluctant to raise that issue in public?

The thing to keep in mind that bathing cleanses your body and praying cleanses your soul.
It doesn't matter if you use Liril or Lifebouy or whether you use Ram or Allah for your happiness and well-being.
The operative word being "well-being".

This is probably the shortest blog I am ever going to write.

Interesting perspective. Unfortunately religion seems to carry a lot more baggage (rites, rituals, definition of what to eat, how to eat, when to eat etc.) with it. If it was understood to be about cleansing one's soul, life would be simpler. Also sample this: people might not discuss what they use, but they do discuss who is cleaner and why...

Eventually we live and die. Well so why fool ourselves and cause more pain to our mind by getting into pointless battles. Soap analogy is so perfect. The very fact that some of us choose not to take a bath describes the fact that atheism exits but then those who don't bath doesn't mean they are not presentable. Life always gives a solution (read deodorant )but yeah Gods path is easier and more rewarding its just that there are too many roads leading to him and too many people want to drag the others on their roads and have a larger company in THEIR OWN HEAVEN.

Nice humorous take on the topic Samar as always =)

nice blog man. but i have some objections about the attitude of one religion , sometimes it frustrates the other religion.
why most(>99.9... % ) of terrorists belong to only one religion? why they cause chaos in one of the north state of india claiming it to be in pak? why they people refuse to sing national song? and there are many more instances which clearly suggest us to be beware of them.

@Anonymous Firstly thanks for the comment. Secondly my post is not about the beliefs, followers, behavior of followers, disambiguation, promotion and corruption of ANY religion, so your comment is highly misplaced. Thirdly, I'd just cite one instance of the Indian history. We did perform WIDESPREAD Sati in those times. If we had been blogging at that time and I would've said something on the topic, you would've rightly agreed that such people of THAT religion are crazy. Yeah, they did give that up in the future but still that does not make them less guilty in the present. So, Let's hope for a better future.
